Small Press Expo anunció el pasado miércoles 21 de agosto los nominados a los Premios Ignatz 2019 que reconocen el trabajo a los mejores talentos en los cómics independientes y de la pequeña prensa norteamericana. Los Premio Ignatz, llamados así en honor a uno de los personajes del cómic Krazy Kat de George Herriman, son los premios del festival SPE desde 1997. La versión número 21 del festival se llevará a cabo el 14 y 15 de septiembre en Bethesda, Maryland.
En esta versión, las editoriales First Second y Drawn & Quarterly obtuvieron cinco nominaciones, con Lion Forge, Top Shelf Productions respectivamente. Con una amplia nominación de autoras de cómic, se destacan Rosemary Valero-O’Connell y Mariko Tamaki quienes obtuvieron un total de tres nominaciones por Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up M , y Ezra Claytan Daniels quien recibió dos nominaciones por Upgrade Soul .
Los Premios Ignatz 2019 se presentarán en una ceremonia el sábado 14 de septiembre de 2019 a las 9:30 p.m.
